7 A4 textile samples

This week I had to create an A4 textile sample for each of the 7 deadly sins and relate and take inspiration from my research onto these. We had to use the techniques we used in our workshops for example knitting, lace making, hand embroidery and sashiko.
Here are my samples:

This was for the sin Lust it represents bricks attached together, whilst being separated. This shows when your lusting for something you fall out of love with it and move on.

This is for the sin sloth because it's very dark and doesn't have any life to it. I created this with the technique sashiko.
This is for the sin greed. It represents money, with the black lines going across like it's being trapped because when you have money you want more and more, but it might not make you happy.
This is for the sin pride and it represents a peacock tail. I used the colour blue because I think it's a very powerful bright colour.
This is for gluttony and I have used the knitting technique and have made everything very large with lots of volume because when I think of gluttony it makes me think of binging and wanting more.
This sample is for wrath showing the tangled emotions, because when your angry you feel all these different emotions inside you.
And the final sample is for envy which is also the sin I have chosen for my final garment. I have created this with the felting method using felt and wool. It represents a cactus because when you are envious you feel very jealous and resentful.

Thanks for reading!
